Regatta: A series of boat races. Upwind: Sailing towards the direction from which the wind is blowing. Downwind: Sailing in the same direction that the wind is blowing.Tacking: a maneuver used in sailing to change the direction of a sailboat when sailing upwind or at an angle to the wind.Port: The left side of the boat when facing forward. Starboard: The right side of the boat when facing forward. Mark: A buoy or other object that sailors must navigate around during a race.
